Introduction
"Like many of us, Soljacic (Marin Soljacic, an assistant professor in MIT's Department of Physics and Research Laboratory of Electronics) often forgets to recharge his cell phone, and when it is about to die, it emits an unpleasant noise. "Needless to say, this always happens in the middle of the night," he said. "So, one night, at 3 a.m., it occurred to me: Wouldn't it be great if this thing charged itself?" He began to wonder if any of the physics principles he knew of, could turn into new ways of transmitting energy. After all, scientists and engineers have known for nearly two centuries that transferring electric power does not require wires to be in physical contact".

In the past decade there have been many innovations and product introductions in the mobile electronic gadgets. These mobile products are popular since many types of wireless services such as cellular and internets are available which gives the consumer the flexibility of working while they are away from the physical resources.
World is going wireless but you need a physical power source as after some time as no in-built battery can keep the electronic gadget running for ever. The day is not far away when we all will be able to charge mobile computing, communications and other devices wirelessly. The product will allow you to charge your device wirelessly with a device which will radiate safe energy wirelessly, and this energy will be absorbed by an inbuilt or external antenna attached to the device, which will recharge battery of your device. Depending on your requirement this remote charger will come with various features such as number of devices you want to recharge, range of device etc.
Features
For identifying and then narrowing down to the most important features that drives the consumer's purchasing decision, a detailed process of both secondary and primary research were conducted.
Secondary Research
Research on the internet
Since this a relatively new technology without any penetration into the market, we based our secondary research mostly to leading on-line technology magazines and trade shows:
(1) Major leading on-line technology journals and reviews:
A. C|Net - Based on the document published " Harvesting RF Technology" and subsequent reviews and drawing on discussion blog ( 50 positing) on the article, the features mentioned above were identified - distance, radiation effects (safety), one - to - one Vs one - to -many, environmental (green) benefits, frequency of the RF technology, single applications for one Vs many home appliances .
B. Yahoo Finance - Based on the article "Breakthrough Wireless RF-Energy Harvesting...", features such as recharge or replace conventional batteries, embedded within appliances, power many appliances within range were reinforced .
C. BBC News, Technology - Based on the article "Physics promises wireless power", features such as Radiation Vs Resonance (less loss over transmission), uninterrupted Vs interrupted line of sight, form factor (usefulness to attach to the mobile devices) .
D. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, News Office Publication - Based
