Academic writing serves as the communication tool for conveying acquired knowledge in specific field of study. It is being studied to enhance learning development or use in assessing course comprehension.
In the philippine context, academic wrting is being neglected. Academic writing must be given some importance because it gives you an information in order to display a lucid understanding about a particular subject or study. It supplies some examples to the readers to illustrate your point well and moreover, it is very comprehensive and interesting. Filipinos specially students have forgotten the importance of ths academic writing. Most of the Filipinos likely procrastinate all the time, they do all the works in 'last minute'. It's already the mindset of the Filipinos, but the worst scenario is all they do is to copy and paste. The writing style of the Filipino needs to be improve most specially in academic writing though some prefer the creative writing, the form of writing used to express something, whether it be feelings, thoughts or emotions. Students think that academic writing is literally hard because they may lack of vacabulary words and some of them are not fluent in writing or speaking in English, and therefore they still have the eagerness to learn and correct their academic writing for important purposes like for their grades and subject matters for them to achieve what they want to achieve in life. Errors are errors. It can be prevented because as the time passed by the errors that they're commiting is becoming lesser owing to the fact that they learned their mistakes.
