Introduction:

Chapo is a grade A company, highly experienced contractors and civil engineering company. Chapo came from Cyprus where the main company was founded in 1949 by Mr. Charilaos Apostolides. Afterward, it was spread in middle-east and some countries all around the world. Chapo has branches in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi Iraq, Egypt, Gibraltar, Greece and the United States of America.

In 1982  Charilaos Apostolides (Bahrain) W.L.L. was established as a joint venture with Ahmed Bin Yousif Kanoo W.L.L., Over many years in Bahrain Chapo built an excellent reputation through the high standard, quality of work, manpower, financial capability and    magnificent public relations with various aspects in government and private sectors in Bahrain, which produces an integrated work, as a result, it is reflected on the tenders of Chapo and contributed in the winning process.      

Chapo is well established and progressive company, it is spending a lot of money to developing and growing their staff. Furthermore, it provides professional services to the client.

It contributes significantly in infrastructures, building construction, drainage, and electricity, it is also undertaken a variety of infrastructure projects for examples: roads and bridges, water and power supply, walkways and pedestrian passage, landscaping works, fencing, and boundary wall.

Chapo built multiple major infrastructures and significant building projects all around Bahrain previously and recent years such as Salmaniya hospital and Muharraq causeway, Floating City  Amwaj, Amwaj Waves, water and energy project in Al -Durr and Toyota Plaza which are located in Isa Town.

Charilaos Apostolides (Bahrain) W.L.L. adopts a highly expertise information system department, which incorporates the most important thing in any department which is the highly skilled persons combined with the technological developed software such as, ERP system (Focus RT) which is an electronic procurement system that uses the method of procuring items and services through a private server on the internet, Staad Pro which is a structural analysis and design software that produces a full report regarding the loads, shear and moment within a structure, Primavera which is a project management system that planning and organize and follow up the progress of projects, payroll system which is the process that produces the payment method for the employee for the work they have done, human resource management system which is software combines many human resources furcation such as recruiting and training, payroll,  benefits administration and performance analysis and review. Also, there are some of other information systems that Chapo used for examples sign in/ out system, Official e-mails and sharing information system.

General literature:

It is important to know how evolved information systems so that we can manage information system and information technology more efficiency and effectiveness. Therefore, we believe that an organization that wants to achieve aggressive goals and Success in the future, it should reconsider its old strategies or develop plans and replaced by new strategies which can meet their objectives. Moreover, we can consider information systems as a key factor in enterprise development.  

Since the first computer appeared in companies, an information system incorporated as robust and reliable tools to improve and develop the activities to the management and organization.  For examples without information system, the hospital could not treat a patient, the government could not collect taxes or other resources, the engineer could not design a building and bank could not process payments. So it is becoming the backbone of the organization and in every sector such as engineering, education, health care and government.          

The development and advancement of technologies today sees the improvement and rapid use of computers, mobile devices, tablets, and smartphones. On this basis, information becomes everywhere and anywhere. Thus, this has changed the way people communicate together.      

Traditionally, an information system used to solve internal business problems, therefore, it is considered as a common sight in the organization. However,  the organization and companies even it is big or small as well see the necessity to incorporate the new technology which is led to the maximizing business performance and increase productivity. That, in turn, will drive the organization to competitiveness and effectiveness. In additional, information system considered the dominant application of computing, so the team depend on and rely on the information system for their planning, organizing, operation and decision maker day to day without fail, even though the efficient use of information system has become a critical success in modern society.            

Many failures have occurred in technology, but the most important are how to learn from that, then how to use it and apply in all fields of life such as engineering, manufacturing, accounting and human care as well. In fact, over the years, many ways and techniques have been improved and developed to overcome the obstacles and build an efficient information system.  

The Information system is used to refer to variety aspects of life and different types of purpose; this is one of the reasons for the dissatisfaction with the information system. The following is an alternative definition of an information system for some people who have a relationship with the information system:

•  Information technology, which has embedded in a social system this information technology increase rapidly, but does not prevent the system from being a social system. (F. Land (1985, p. 215).

•  It is a complex social system which is the result of embedding computer to the organization, which is given variety action for the human judgments and decision maker. (Symons (1991, pp. 186-187)

•  Serve an organization's  purpose by the development of information system during re-organized and expands the system and it consists technical, organizational and thematic elements. (Lyytinen & Newman (2006, p. 4).
