Donald John Trump was born June 14, 1946 in Queens, New York he was the fourth kid out of five. He was born into Mary and Frederick Trumps family; they saw Donald as an energetic and bright child and sent him to New York Military Academy at 13 hoping he would learn to be disciplined and his energy would be channeled into a positive manner. At the academy Donald Trump did well both socially and academically, he graduated in 1964 he was a rising star athlete and a student leader.
Trump was strongly influenced by his father and joined the family business after graduating college, the Trump Organization. Donald moved his residence to Manhattan where he worked with many influential people, he was convinced that the city had economic opportunity and became involved in the large city projects that would offer high profits, attractive architectural design, and winning public recognition. When the Pennsylvania Central Railroad entered bankruptcy Trump saw this as an opportunity on the west side of the railroad’s yard to build apartments, this offer was refused due to the economic climate of the time, he then promoted to property to the location of a city convention center, the government chose his site in 1978. Trump offered to drop a fee if the site were to be named after his family but it was turned down, along with his bid to build a complex. In 1979 Trump rented a site next to Tiffany and Company as the location for a monumental $200 million dollars. This structure was named Trump Tower when it opened in 1982, this building attracted well known retail stores and celebrity renters and brought Trump national attention. Donald Trump is a real-estate entrepreneur in 1980 he was able to acquire a piece of Atlantic City, New Jersey’s land. He got a gambling a license, financing and permits, and got offered a partnership with Holiday Inns Corporation and Harrah’s casino hotel and the hotel opened in 1982 as Harrah’s at Trump Plaza. Trump bought out Holiday Inns on 1986 and renamed the complex Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino.
