1. According to the website http://womenissues.about.com/cs/abortionstats/a/aaabortionstats.htm there are approximately 126,000 abortions conducted each day throughout the world. This website includes the abortion statistics of the world and breaks the data down to the demographics of the United States. It also discusses the decisions to have an abortion and the use of contraceptives in the United States. This was an informative website and included detailed statistics conducted by the Alan Guttmacher Institute. According to the website http://www.bls.gov/cps in 2000, Ð'Ѓgon average there were roughly 135 million employed and 6 million unemployed people in the labor force in the United States.Ð'Ѓh (p. 3) The websites definition of unemployed is: Ð'Ѓgpersons are classified as unemployed if they do not have a job, have actively looked for work in the prior four weeks, and are currently available for work.Ð'Ѓh (P. 2). These statistics were collected from unemployment insurance programs. The data was informative but probably not completely accurate since the numbers only included those individuals who participated in unemployment insurance programs. According to the website www.statistics.gov.uk Ð'Ѓgthe United Kingdom population is projected to increase by 7.2 million over the period of 2004 to 2031.Ð'Ѓh (p. 1). The growth rate is based on increased future birth rates and lower death rates. The website was informative, but since this is a future prediction, there is not much supporting documentation to support the statistic.
