Football is the only sport that my dad and I have a great passion for because of the bone crushing hits and the amazing catches. Because of this, my dad bought two tickets for the San Francisco 49ers game against the Philadelphia Eagles on a Sunday last season. This was finally a great chance for me to not sit home all day bored and doing nothing. For example, everyday I would be stuck home alone while my parents were at work until night. All I would do was watch TV, listen to music and play games until I was completely bored out of my mind. This was not very productive and doing this everyday bored me a lot.
Going to watch the football game was also a great opportunity for me to watch my first live 49ers game at Monster Park together with my dad. This gave me an opportunity to spend time with my dad because usually my dad and I never get to see each other much since he is always working. Since he was able to some how get a day off from work, this was a great chance for us to spend time together while enjoying a sport we both love to watch. We decided to leave for the game early in the morning because we had to be at the stadium before one-o-clock, and my dad knew that there would be heavy traffic on the way to the game. There was an accident and eventually we ran into a lot of traffic, and this made me especially mad because I did not want to be late for my first football game ever. But lucky the traffic went away and everything was back to normal. My dad and I were really excited for our first live football game, knowing that we would maybe have a chance to get our 49ers jersey autographed by one of the players.
We reached the stadium about an hour early and got in line to enter the stadium. Once we were inside the stadium for the first time, we were filled with energy and could not wait for the game to start. Being at the stadium and sitting in the seats felt completely different from watching the game from the house. For instance, the crowd noise, music, buying souvenirs from the stands in the stadium, and seeing the players live is not something I would have experienced at my house. Loud planes flew over the stadium before the game started and that was something that I would not get to hear if I was watching the game from my house. My dad and I had 49ers written all over our face and arms. Our faces were colored with the traditional red and gold colors to represent our home team.
The stadium was playing a lot of rock and rap music that would make the crowd scream from the top of their lungs. Most of the fans were completely drunk and were jumping up and down spilling some of their beer on my pants, but that is how it is supposed to be when you go to a live game. The weather was cold as expected to be in San Francisco. The cold breeze from the water outside the stadium was coming inside and this made my head hurt really badly, but this did not stop me from cheering for my team. The food was also another thing my dad and I enjoyed a lot. For some reason the hotdog and fries tasted very different to me versus eating the same food from somewhere else outside the stadium.
During the game every time the 49ers would score a touchdown my dad and I would give high fives to each other. That high five meant a lot more to me than just a high five; it meant that we were actually connecting with one another through a football game. Every time the 49ers would score a touchdown or get an interception my dad and I would down a slice of pizza and grab a fist full of popcorn and down it as another way of celebration. I was always excited about the moment when the kick off would start, and I could see the excitement on my dads face before the kicker would kick the ball off to the opposing team.
I would notice every kick off that every time the kicker would start moving to kick the ball, my dad would get up off of the seat with great enthusiasm. I could see the excitement building up on his face. He would smile and laugh and I could tell he was having a good time. We would yell and scream the teams' name, and this was a very bonding moment for the both of us. All that yelling and screaming made our lungs sore.
The best moment from the whole game was after the game because the 49er players were going around the stadium, meeting their fans and signing autographs. Many players
