Public Bank Berhad was found by Tan Sri Teh Hong Piow, who is the current chairman, in the year 1966. Public Bank is focused on providing banking and financial services, which includes retail commercial banking, corporate banking, investment banking, Islamic banking, funds management, wealth management services. This bank is known as one of the biggest domestic banks in Malaysia. The Public Bank Group centers its attention onto retail consumer banking and provides commercial loans to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to help them start off their business. The Public Bank Group has many branches in countries across Asia, such as China, Vietnam and Sri Lanka. Currently, Public Bank Berhad stands to be one of the largest bank firms in Southeast Asia.
Public Bank Berhad has a corporate mission, that goes by these lines: “to sustain the position of being the most efficient, profitable and respected premier financial institution in Malaysia.”
Their corporate mission seems like a legitimate proof on how they have set their label in the minds of their consumers. Here are some things that Public Bank Berhad have done for their customers, employees, shareholders and the community who are the stakeholders of its business.
For their customers, Public Bank providing the politest and the most proficient service in every spectrum of its business. Public Bank is also quite active in the innovation of developing new banking products and services which are to maximise the satisfaction of their customers, also profitable for their business at the same time. The employees always treat their customers with a warm and welcoming smile, making the customers satisfied with the service provided.
For the business’ employees, the business encourages the comfort of its staff through pleasing remuneration and fringe benefits. These are done by endorsing good staff morale or better known as being ethical and socially responsible via appropriate staff training and development and arrangements for further career advancement opportunities. Trainings like these always help the employees to be a more all-rounded person in general.
Meanwhile for the shareholders of Public Bank Berhad, they are assisted by the bank because Public Bank Berhad forges ahead and consolidates its position as a stable and progressive financial institution. Public Bank also generates profits and a fair return to their investors. Their services allows them to be more trustworthy, hence leading to more people investing through the firm.
