The Civil Right Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination at work on the basis of religion. This amended civil right act changed the workplace forever. Religion and spirituality are completely different yet can be categorized together. I believe that being spiritual has the ability to bring out the hidden potential of employees and employers. I read somewhere that spirituality leads you to experience consciousness at a deeper level which can improve skills, knowledge , and intuition. There are many different ways to get in touch with your spiritual side. I’m a spiritual person I believe in meditation, it helps find a zen place and calm down while relaxing me. I feel it leads to spiritual growth and overall well being. This is a great way to allow yourself to journey contently throughout the day by continuing to stay positive and stress free. Some people do bring their practices to work for example they might do yoga on a break, meditate at their desk in indian style, or even watering plants can be calming. Even Anger management and AA meetings are a type of positive spiritual growth that most owners, managers, and employers could benefit from, and some company’s pay for it. There are many ways to be spiritual without even realizing it! Spirituality has a lot to bring to the table. Here’s even better way to explain how spirituality gets involved in the workplace. spiritually is being creative and allows your mind to be free and fun. Spirituality is respect, You respect yourself, your body as well as other people and other things such as the environment. Spirituality is energy, vision, fun, and being able to find yourself. The code of Ethics states that we respect our uniqueness, Walking our talk, Celebrating honesty, Protecting clarity (avoid using drugs), Maintaining confidentiality, and Representing ourselves accurately. The code of ethics in human resources, and spirituality are very similar in many aspects.
