Team Communication

The importance of being able to express views, ideas, and to render suggestions in a

format that will enable a student to productively and actively participate in the assigned

group is instrumental in developing the open lines of communication. It is imperative to

be able to communicate on a level where all team members can relate. To

communicate effectively is to present the expressions clearly, concisely and be open for

constructive criticism and other team members' assessment of your views.

Good communication is a prerequisite for good teamwork. One way to start

of the individual. Everyone on the team needs to know what the objective s are and what

their role is. That way everyone does their part and the job gets done. This phrase gave

me insight on how to conform myself to working in a team and openly participating to

the fullest.

The benefits of working within a team is knowing what behaviors are

successfully going to benefit the team, understanding how to collaborate, seeing what

works and understanding what makes a team successful.

Behaviors that are successful are those that are optimistic. To interact within a

team and keep a professional and calm demeanor is highly important. It helps keep the

overall mood of the team at a working temperature.

Understanding how to incorporate your views and assignments to collectively

place all of the ideas into one general work is a major obstacle to overcome. Persistent

team efforts are the key to obtaining this goal.

It is of the utmost importance to express views honestly. This determines how the

teams working relationship will develop.

When all of the above are mastered, given time and an abundance of effort, the

full understanding of how a team works is realized.

The challenges of working within a group is breaking down the barriers of the

other team members, communication gaps, increasing critical thinking as a whole,

establishing trust and just having fun.

Breakings down barriers are difficult. To become a successfully functioning team

it is a must. Interpret what is being said and displayed as it relates to the team and not on

a personal level.

To avoid communication gaps is extremely hard to do. Some team members are

ready and willing to participate and get things done. While others, are procrastinators and

fall short in participating on time and on regular basis.

After reading the chapter on Critical Thinking, I was amazed at how different

ways of thinking and dissecting and idea can help produce some of the best work a team

can produce.

It is difficult for some people to trust anyone. It is particularly difficult to trust

several people to whom you are linked to through a class and a portion of your
