The College Degrees Most Likely to Land People a Job

College education will certainly provide many benefits for the future. According to a research, education in college will be useful both for financial and economic for the graduates. An academic degree is a degree awarded to a graduate of academic education studies from a college, if people graduated from college they will get a degree based on what majors they took. As Indonesian people think, degree is added to the person's name to indicate respect, official position, or academic or professional qualification. Tricia Hussung (2015) said that it is important for people personally and professionally to earn a college degree. When you consider the financial, social and cultural benefits of higher education, it is easy to see how a degree can make a big difference in your life and career.  High school graduates who have not met the qualifications have an unemployment tendency than diploma or bachelor’s graduate or above. Workers who rely on their high school diploma usually work in the service sector. While those who have a diploma and a Bachelor's degree are recruited in the company's management department or other occupations. Thus, in terms of the achievement level for positioning, staffing, and salaries, these two categories of graduates are also different.

A study from CareerBuilder revealed that 74 percent of employers plan to hire recent college grads this year, up from 67 percent a year ago. This is the highest percentage since 2007. The recent college graduate will also get paid higher, with a starting salary atleast $50,000. Today, a company is more concerned with the performance of a person than just academic value. Research revealed 44% of universities are only learning based on a book rather than doing a practice in real life, and then there is more than 10% of universities who does not encourage their student to take internship enough. Usually recent college graduate are lack of oral and written communication, leadership, creative thinking, project management, research and analysis, computer and technical science, and math and other skills as employers believe. They inadequate in teamwork as the research found 39% the new graduates need better teamwork skills, and half from 100% research found that they need to learn more about interpersonal or people skills, like, communicating with others. These past years, a company are mostly hiring new graduates to information technology, which is a young people are mostly always updated with the new tech. And also for accounting, customer service, finance, production job, and business development. Based on the article Chad Brooks (2017) wrote, the most-in-demand degrees for a worker with that is needed by companies are business who ranked first among the others degree, which is by research it took 30%. And also, engineering took 26% and for computer and information science took 23, and there are thirteen more degree that is most in-demand for a company.

Chad Brooks (2017) article is explaining about first rank most in-demand degree that company needed is business, it is true because business is a global majors, this department is the most important in every company. That  is why this department has large number of enthusiasts, in comparison to other majors. Although other majors are equally important in the future for the world of working. In the other hand, business majors are known having opportunities for many jobs, this is because the graduates of business majors are very flexible and can be placed in many other fields. Job opportunities for graduates of business and management majors are extensive, as almost all organizations, agencies, institutions, companies and governmental institutions require graduates of business or management majors. Enoch Morrison (2017) wrote that people who have a business major background salaries often pay much better than other entry-level jobs, and with hard work, a person should be able to continue to earn a lot over his career. The second rank for the most in-demand for a company that Chad Brooks (2017) wrote is engineering, there are many courses from engineering major, such as architecture, electrical engineering, geodetic engineering, and more. Engineering majors are more specific than business major, because they learn to made something or to create something essence rather than business major does. Engineering majors can work at an industry whether it is an real estate industry, mining industry, fertilizer industry, and many more, it is based on what courses that people take at the engineering major. And also there are fourteen more majors that most in-demand that company need.
